Children

Art Adventure Camp

Art Camp will be offered in a summertime. This camp serves children in grades K-5 and was held at Springfield Elementary this year.

Art in the Afternoon
This after-school art program continues to enjoy success and is currently offered at Oakland Elementary, Woodfields Elementary, and Hodges Elementary. One-hour art classes are offered in three-week sessions. Each school currently offers three sessions during the year.

Artist Residency
We are excited to be working with the Artist Residency Program. This program, designed by the South Carolina Arts Commission, allows various approved artists to visit different schools to work with students.

Last fall, Poetry Alive visited Woodfields Elementary, printmaker Jim Creal visited Oakland Elementary, creative writer Cynthia Jaskwich visited Pinecrest Elementary, and muralist Heather Kline visited Mathews Elementary.

The Arts Council of Greenwood County, Education Enrichment Foundation, Greenwood Lander Performing Arts, and the South Carolina Arts Commission fund this program.

Student Exhibits
The Arts Council sponsors an annual exhibit of student artwork. The schools in the county are invited to participate in the fall show.
